Real World MythologyEdit

The Nine Herbs Charm is an Old English charm recorded in the 10th-century Lacnunga manuscript. The charm is intended for the treatment of poisons and infection by a preparation of specific herbs.

At the end of the charm, instructions are given to crush them to dust and mix them with old soap and apple juice. Further instructions are given to make a paste.

The charm references the nine herbs:

  • Mugwort
  • Attorlaðe - identified as cockspur grass or betony
  • Lamb's cress
  • Plantain
  • Mayweed
  • Nettle
  • Crab-apple
  • Thyme
  • Fennel

Teen Wolf MythologyEdit

Chris Argent relays this myth to Melissa McCall who collects them to treat his wound from a Ghost Riders. He relays that the herbs are mixed the wrong way, it would kill him instead of saving him. She finds them as modern drugs and mixes them with Mil or honey. (Ghosted)

This remedy heals Argent as well as Peter Hale's severe burns in Heartless and Corey in Riders on the Storm.
