Teen Wolf is a television drama series on MTV, that premiered on June 5, 2011 and is an “in name only” remake of the 1985 movie.

Teen Wolf stars Tyler Posey as the newly bitten werewolf Scott McCall.

Production Edit

Teen Wolf was developed by Jeff Davis (creator, Criminal Minds) who also serves as executive producer.

Russell Mulcahy (Highlander, Resident Evil: Extinction) directed the pilot and five other episodes of the first season and serves as co-executive producer.

The pilot was conceived and written entirely by Jeff Davis. Jeph Loeb & Matthew Weisman get a writing credit on the show due to union rules which require it because they created the original characters in the 1985 film and the show uses the names of those characters as well as the werewolf theme.

The series is a co-production with MGM, in association with Lost Marbles Productions, Inc., First Cause, Inc. and DiGa.

Season 1 and Season 2 were filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

From MTV: Scott was just a regular guy until one bite changed his life forever.

Now he struggles to understand who he is and what he might become. Is he more wolf than human - or is it the other way around? Whichever it is, it's not going to be easy. Scott will try to control his urges, but mostly he's scared that it's his urges that could end up controlling him.
Teen Wolf is the story of Scott as he tries to walk the line between what he wants and what he can't help from wanting. Will the bite end up being a gift? Or will it be a curse? And what will it all mean for his relationship with Allison - the girl he can't get enough of? Only time will tell if he should embrace his newfound powers, or if he should fear them.

From MGM: Scott’s a young high school sophomore who has always been on the outside looking in. No girlfriend, bad at sports and socially awkward. But a single wolf bite changes everything. Now Scott has super-human abilities which lead him to become the star of his lacrosse team. His athletic prowess also makes him popular and desirable, and he falls for the new girl in town, Allison, who’s equally smitten. But Scott’s “new” personality and abilities also pose several problems, including being pulled into the middle of a war between werewolves and werewolf hunters, the leader of which is the father of Allison.

Now Scott must try to curb his animalistic desires and urges while trying to maintain his relationship with Allison and his best friend Stiles, not to mention his family and society at large.
